The Capacitance Based Linear Level Transmitter:
Basic Principle: Capacitance level transmitter is used in sensing level of variety of Liquids. The transmitter is suitable for both conductive as well as nonconductive liquids. It is offered with PTFE sleeve for better insulation and to withstand high temperature. In conductive tanks, the insulated probe acts as one electrode and the tank wall as another electrode, any change in liquid level the dielectric value will change thereby changing the capacitance value proportional to the liquid level. In case of non conductive tanks, a reference probe is provided as ground electrode.
Capacitance level sensors are used for wide variety of solids, aqueous and organic liquids, and slurries. The technique is frequently referred as RF or radio frequency signals applied to the capacitance circuit. The sensors can be designed to sense material with dielectric constants as low as 1.1 (coke and fly ash) and as high as 88 (water) or more. Sludges and slurries such as dehydrated cake and sewage slurry (dielectric constant approx. 50) and liquid chemicals such as quicklime (dielectric constant approx. 90) can also be sensed. Dual-probe capacitance level sensors can also be used to sense the interface between two immiscible liquids with substantially different dielectric constants.

• The Sensor provides 4-20mA linear output for the variation of medium level in tank.

• This sensing system has advance electronic circuitry which converts the vertical movement of the float to linear electrical signal, either 4-20mA or 0-10V DC signal.
• The sensor senses every centimeter of movement of the float and converts it into the linear value for the total length of the sensor.
• The sensor is suitable for the linear level measurement in terms of liters or Kilo liters of any liquid especially for diesel or chemical storage tanks.
